Funeral services were held at Rock Rapids Monday afternoon for Gerrit Van Wyhe, 58, brother of Art Van Wyhe of Sioux Center and a resident of this vicinity for nine years prior to moving to Rock Rapids about 15 years ago, who died December 11 after a long illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. P.J. Feenstra and burial was made in the Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids.

Mr. Van Wyhe was born Decemeber 27, 1898, near Hull.

He married Alice De Weerd February 9, 1926, and the couple resided in Sioux County until moving to Rock Rapids. They had farmed near Carmel for about 8 years and near Sioux Center for a number of years.

Surviving are the widow; four sons, Gerrit Jr. of Rock Rapids, Elmer of Artesia, Cal., and Willis and Marvin, both at home; five daughters, Mrs. Vernon Brower of Edgerton, Minn., Mrs. Don Selles of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Albertha, Joyce and Muriel, all at home; nine brothers, John, Edward and William, all of Hull, Jake of Lansing, Michigan ,Henry of Flat Rock, Michigan, Lambert of Kansas City, Mo., Art of Sioux Center, Ben of Clinton, Wisconsin, and Dick of Whitewater, Wisconsin; five sisters, Mrs. Dick Kruizenga of Clinton, Wisconsin, Mrs. Jake Sneller, Mrs. Gerrt Van Otterloo and Mrs. Nicholas Van Marel, all of Sheldon, Iowa and Mrs. Bert Franken of Boyden, Ia, and five grandchildren.
