Esther Koedam, 62, rural Rock Valley –Hull area, died Wednesday, February 6,1991, at a hospital in Sioux Center after a long illness. Services were held at 10:30 Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Calvin Christian Reformed Church of Rock Valley with the Rev. C. Eric Fennema officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery with Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley officiating.

Mrs. Koedam, the former Esther De Wild, was born Nov. 18, 1928, in Boyden, the daughter of Albert and Etta (Werkman) De, Wild. She graduated from Boyden Hull School and Northwestern College in Orange City. She married Elmer Koedam June 14,1951, at Hull, the couple farmed between Hull and Rock Valley. Mrs. Koedam was an active member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church, Faith Circle of the church and the Rock Valley Christian Women's Club.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Darrell and Lynette Koedam of Sioux Center, Iowa, and Brian and Carla Koedam of Sioux Center; two daughters and their husbands, Darla and Doug Van Den Top of Hull and Brenda and Lyle Mars of Orange City; eight grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Lawrence and Elnora De Wild of Boyden and a sister and her husband, Evelyn and Dean Lloyd and her husband, Evelyn and Dean Lloyd of Coon Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents.
