Sioux County Capital February 14, 1985

Helen Kroese, 86, of Hull, died Sunday in the Sioux Center hospital. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. Rev. William D. Van Dyken officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery under direction of the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kroese, the former Helen Kooiker, was born April 12, 1898, at Middleburg. She married John Kroese Feb. 14,1924 at Middleburg. They farmed in the Middleburg, Newkirk and Hull areas before retiring to Hull in 1957. Mr. Kroese died June 29, 1974 at Hull. Mrs. Kroese was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Joe (Hilda) Mouw, Mrs. John (Julianne) Kats and Mrs. Harold (Joyce) DeVries, all of Hull, Mrs. Alfred (Clara) Hoogland of Orange City and Mrs. Melvin (Wilmina) Schuiteman of Sioux Center; two sisters, Miss Mary Kooiker of Hull and Mrs. Arie (Jennie) Vander Weide of Sioux Center; 28 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren
