Died: August 31, 1989Gerrit Uittenbogaard, 102, of Hull, died Thursday, August 31 at the Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Hull.
Services were Saturday September 2 at the First Reformed Church, Boyden, with Rev. William Haak officiating. Burial was in the Boyden Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Boyden.
Mr. Uittenbogaard, son of Art and Magelze (Buezekom) Uittenbogard, was born December 9, 1896, in the Netherlands. He came to this country in 1900. He married Nelsena Boerhave February 19, 1913, in Sheldon. She died September 1, 1973.
They had farmed in Boyden since 1926and also farmed at Archer and Sheldon.
He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Boyden and a deacon for many years.
He lived at the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon for 10 years and moved into the Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Hull in 1987.
Survivors include a daughter: Margaret Moret, Boyden; three sons: Art of Primghar, Edward of Sheldon and Willis of Boyden; a sister: Grace Kreykes, Primghar; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
