Mrs. Minnie Vander Wilt, age 86, of Orange City, passed away Saturday, May 13 at Prairie View Retirement Home at Sanborn.

Minnie was born Sept. 16, 1902 at Hull, the daughter of Gerrit William Kosters and Neeltje Van Zee Kosters.

On Feb. 7, 1923, she married Anthony A. Vander Wilt at Sioux Center. They farmed at Boyden until 1950 when they moved into Hull. In March of 1977 they moved to Orange City. Mr. Vander Wilt passed away April 8, 1977 at Orange City.

In August of 1988 Mrs. Vander Wilt became a resident of Prairie View Home.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Orange City where she had been a member of the Lydia Circle. She also belonged to the Orange City Federated Women's Club. For many years she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Hull and also served as a volunteer at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin and his wife Alberta of Boyden; and Clifford and his wife Delores of Shelon; two daughters, Muriel and her husband Marlo De Jongh of Rogersville, MO, and Marlys and her husband Jerole Ten Haken of Beloit, Wis. 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 17 at the First Reformed Church with the Rev. Frank Snuttjer and Marlin Vander Wilt officiating. Interment was at Hope Cemetery in Hull under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
