Mrs. Grace Kreykes, 95, of Primghar died Wednesday, May 18, 1994 at a retirement home in Sanborn. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the American Reformed Church in Primghar. The Rev. Bruce Kuiper officiated. Burial was in the Hospers Cemetery under direction of the Gaudian- Eldridge Funeral Home in Primghar.

Grace was born July 29, 1898 in The Netherlands, the daughter of Art and Margaret Uittenbogaard. She came with her family to the United States and to the Hospers area in 1900. She received her education in the Hospers and Sanborn schools. On March 19,1919 she married William Kreykes at Hospers. The couple made their home in Hospers and later moved to Sanborn where they operated a grocery store. They then moved to Cherokee where they were employed at the state hospital. In I960 they retired to Primghar. Mr. Kreykes died March 1, 1982. She entered the retirement home in Sanborn in August 1993. Mrs. Kreykes was a member of the American Reformed Church of Primghar.

Survivors include five daughters, Matilda and her husband, Mitch Vander Tuig of Primghar, Arlene and her husband Mike Rota of Mesa, Ariz., Edna and her husband Harold Winkel of Sanborn, Betty and her husband Bud Wilch of Ashland, Neb., and Mrs. Bonnie Admire of Primghar; a son, Bill and his wife Jean Kreykes of Providence, R.I.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ida Kreykes of Sanborn; 22 grandchildren; 45 greatgrandchildren; and six great-greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Arnold and Harold; a son-in-law, Dick Admire; eight brothers and one sister.
