Mrs. Alice J. Van Wyk, age 92, of Orange City, died Friday, May 14, 1993 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 18, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Henry Vermeer and the Rev. Clarence Greving officiated. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery in Hull under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.

Alice Johanna was born February 8, 1901 at Hull, the daughter of John and Antonie (Ver Ploeg) De Wild. She was raised at Hull.

On June 10, 1925, she married Mitchell J. Van Wyk at Hull. They made their home in Orange City where Mr. Van Wyk was Sioux County Auditor for almost 50 years. He died November 15, 1974 at Orange City.

Mrs. Van Wyk was a member of the First Reformed Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Wielenga of Orange City; granddaughter, Linda and her husband Tom Coyle of Overland Park, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Michael, Mark and Robin Vande Brake.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Raymond Wielenga; two sisters, Henrietta Wissink and Pearl Kooiker; and six brothers, Conrad, Albert, Henry W. John, another Conrad and Arthur Benjamin De Wild.
