Janice G. Vander Stoep, 40, of Oak Harbor, Washington, died April 3, at her home in Oak Harbor after an extended illness.

Funeral services were April 7, at the First Reformed Church of Oak Harbor. Burial was at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Mrs. Vander Stoep was born October 7, 1958, in Sioux Center. She was a 1977 graduate of Sioux Center High School. She attended Northwestern College where she met her husband, Jim Vander Stoep of Oak Harbor. After marrying in 1979, the couple moved to Oak Harbor. She worked with her husband in their business, Northwest Appraisal Service.

She was a member of First Reformed Church of Oak Harbor.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Craig; a daughter, Carrie; her parents, Gerrit and Katherleen Rozeboom; four brothers, Stan, Verlyn, Arlyn and Galen Rozebroom, all of Sioux Center; and two sisters, Linda McCoy of Bluffton, Ohio, and Karen Vollmar of Pella; her grandmother, Nell Van Rooyen of Orange City; nine nephews; and 10 nieces.

Pallbearers were her brothers, Stan, Verlyn and Galen, and brother-in-law, Ken Swanson and Phil Stevenson.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Oak Harbor First Reformed Church Memorial Fund to be used for native missionary work in India, through the auspices of Gospel for Asia.
