Funeral services will be held at Sanborn at 1:30 P.M. May 6, for Reyer Van Aken, 82, former resident of Hull, who died at the Sanborn retirement home May 3. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Allison Hansen at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Hull and burial will be made in the church cemetery.

Mr. Van Aken was born in The Netherlands July 24, 1888 and came to the U.S. at the age of 26. He was married to Anna Wiese November 23, 1923, at Minneapolis. He was employed by Iowa Public Service Company from 1937 until his retirement in 1964. He had been a resident of the Sanborn retirement home since September 30, 1967. Mrs. Van Aken died January 17, 1971. Survivors include a son, Robert, of Sioux City; and two sisters in The Netherlands.
