Florence Ida Soost, 98, of Rapid City, S.D. died Sunday June 16, 2013, at Clarkson Health Care in Rapid City. Burial was Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton.

Florence was born March 27, 1915 at Hawarden to William and Mata (Miller) Soost. She attended school in Hawarden. She spend most of her life working various jobs in several different locations. Florence worked for the Department of Veteran Affairs in the canteen in Sioux Falls before retiring in 2002. She then moved to Rapid City.

She was a lifetime member of Zion Luthern Church in Sioux Falls and Rapid City.

Survivors include three nieces, Ardis Anderson, Rapid City, Merlene (Robert) Batchelder, Rapid City, Arlene Kratochvil, Alcester; a nephew, Donald (Delores) Abbey, McCook NE.; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Soost and Mable Anderson; a half sister Edna Abbey; and a half brother, Harry Stief.
