Edwin Koob, 68, of Granville died Monday in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness. Services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville. The Rev. Frances Nemmers officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.

Mr. Koob was born Oct. 8, 1913, to Mr. and Mrs. Bernard (Anna Drees) Koob at Granville where he received his education. He married Rosalia Ney Nov. 11, 1941, at Granville. He was employed for many years at Slagle Lumber Co., retiring in 1971. Mr. Koob was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Larry and Jerry, both of Omaha and Lee of Williamsburg, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Tim (Mary Ann) Matya of Shenandoah; two brothers, Milo and Francis, both of Granville; one sister, Mrs. Arnold (Marina) Nemmers of Granville and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, John, Nick, Jim, Ray and Leonard, and one sister, Mrs. John (Margaret) Hodapp.
