Paul Douglas Krommendyk, 45, of North Palm Beach, Florida, formerly of Orange City, died Saturday, September 13, in a traffic accident in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. A memorial service was Friday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Jonathan Opgenorth officiated. Interment was at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.

Krommendyk was born March 19, 1963, in Orange City, the son of Leonard and Lorraine Faye (De Jong) Krommendyk. He was raised at Orange City, Edgerton, Minnesota, and Cherokee, where he began elementary school. His family then returned to Orange City, where he attended the Maurice-Orange City Schools. He also graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City. Upon completing his education, he made his home in Rock Valley, serving as a residential counselor at Hope Haven. Later, he moved to North Palm Beach, Florida, where he owned and operated Paul's Lawn Care, a lawn care and landscaping business. He also worked part-time for Dominos Pizza. He was a member of the Church in the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens. He enjoyed fishing and golfing.

Survivors include his parents, "Doc" and Lorraine Krommendyk of Orange City; two brothers and a sister, Bob Krommendyk and his wife Wendy of North Palm Beach, Barb Kady of Albert City and Dan Krommendyk and his wife Teresa of Sioux City; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rhonda, at age 4 1/2 years, and Lynne and her husband Al Te Velde; and his grandparents, Henry and Delia Krommendyk and Nelson and Ada De Jong. Memorials will be directed to Hope Haven.
