Funeral services were held at St. Mary's church in Alton at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, November 21, for Jake Dykstra, 53, one time employee of the town of Alton, who died November 17 following a long illness.

Mr. Dykstra was born April 10, 1911, at Ireton. He was married to Miss Walburga Miller, January 10, 1948. Survivors besides his wife include six children, Allen, 16; Ruth, 15; Jeffrey, 11; Steve, 7; and twins, Sheila and Alicia, 2.

Other survivors include four brothers, John and Nick of Gatesville, Wis., Richard of Auburn, Cal. and Urban of Alton, and one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Juffer of Alton.

For several years Mr. Dykstra drove a livestock truck at Orange City, then moved to Alton where he operated the ice plant for a couple of years before taking the job with the town.
