Sioux County Capital, May 27, 1987

Fred Vollink, 69, of Hull,, died Tuesday, May 19 in a hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Services were at 10:30 a.m., Friday in First Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Gerald Vander Velde officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery under direction of the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Mr. Vollink was born March 3, 1918 at Ireton. He married Henrietta Engeltjes Nov. 16, 1938 in Ireton. The couple lived in various locations in Iowa and Minnesota, moving to Hull about 30 years ago. He farmed and was employed by Hull Implement and Kooiker Construction in Hull. For the last several years he operated a bull dozer for Cuperus Construction of Hull, retiring in 1980.

Mr. Vollink was a member of First Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife; six sons, Tunis, Harlan, Gary, Harold and Veryl all of Hull, and Fred of LeMars; a daughter, Mrs.Robert (Corrine) Van't Hul of Hull; two brothers, Herman of Ireton and Gilbert of Archer; four sisters, Mrs. Art (Dorothy) Vander Bilt of Garden Grove, CA; Mrs. Cort (Cynthia) Roskamp of Edgerton, MN; Mrs. Lambert John (Jeanette) Roetman of Hospers and Mrs. Marion (Alma) Andringa of Orange City, and 18 grandchildren.
