Hilary P. Konz, 83, of Bellevue, - Neb., and formerly of Alton and Sioux City, died Thursday, Feb. 26 in a hospital at Papillion, Neb., after a lengthy illness. Services were at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton with Monsignor Nicholas J. Ruba officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.

Mr. Konz was born May 20, 1903 in Alton and was raised and educated in the Alton area. He married Olga Minten on Sept. 25, 1929 in Alton and the couple made their home in Algona. They later farmed at Granville and Alton for a number of years. They moved to Sioux City in 1942 where they owned and operated the B & B Grocery Store at 24th and Court streets for eight years before retiring in 1957. Mrs. Konz died March 22, 1981 in Sioux City. He had been residing with his son, Larry, at Bellevue for the last several years.

Survivors include three sons, Wayne of Carmel, Ind., Cyril of Lemon Grove, Calif., and Larry of Bellevue; one daughter, Mrs. Hugh (Alice) Waldier of Orland Park, IL; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Konz, two brothers and four sisters.
