Loyal Konz of Rock Valley, Iowa, died Thursday, September 26, 2002 at Hegg Memorial Health Center in Rock Valley at the age of 72. Funeral service was held Saturday, September 28 at St. Mary's Catholic in Alton and burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Alton.

Loyal Konz was born September 13, 1930 at rural Alton, Iowa . His parent were Joseph and Emma (Mousel) Konz. He was raised in the Alton area and received his education at St. Mary's Academy in Alton. He moved to Rock Valley in 1980 where he was employed. at Hope Haven and later worked at Sioux Preme Egg Products at Sioux Center, Iowa. He retired in 1995. For about the last two years he had been a resident of Valley Manor in Rock Valley. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Rock Valley.

Survivors are two brothers and their wives: Leander and Jane of Remsen, Iowa, Joe and Germaine of Granville; three sisters and their husbands: Arlene and Milton Galles, Margie and Marvin Galles, all of Remsen, and Ann and Donald Shea of Primghar, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
