Anna, S. Kooima, 91, of Rock Valley, died Friday, January 17, 1992, at a Rock Valley nursing home. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Reformed Church, Rock Valley, with the Rev. C. Eric Fennema officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kooima was born Aug. 7, 1900, at Downs, Kan,, daughter of John and Marjorie (Boxum) DeWit. She moved with her family at age 18 to Rock Valley. Mrs. Kooima was born Aug. 7, 1900, at Downs, Kan., daughter of John and Marjorie (Boxum) DeWit. She moved with her family at age 18 to Rock Valley. She married Sam J. Kooima. Feb. 20, 1920, at Rock Valley. They farmed near there until retiring and moving into town in 1965. Mr. Kooima died May 20. 1967. She moved to the Valley Manor June 24, 1991.

Survivors include two sons, Jake of Rock Valley and John of Hull, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Joe (Marge) Gaalswyk, of Rock Valley, Mrs. Tom (Frieda) Gaalswyk of Alvord, Iowa, Mrs. Otto (Genevieve) Mans of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mrs. Clarence (Joyce) Velgersdyk of Minneapolis; two brothers, Joe De Wit of Rock Valley and Henry DeWit of In wood, Iowa; 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed, Bert and Everet De Wit; three sisters Jennie De Groot and Mary and Hattie De Wit; a grandson, Arlan Gaalswyk, and a great-grand daughter, Danielle Anliker.
