Kenneth Dale Korver, 64, of Alton died Wednesday, October 12, at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, from head trauma due to a truck accident north of Alton. Kenneth A memorial service was Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Alton Reformed Church with the Revs. Michael and Elizabeth Hardeman officiating. Interment was at the Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton, with military rites by Floyd Post 200 of the American Legion.

Korver was born December 12, 1940, in Orange City, the son of Myron and Allie (Vander Maten) Korver. He was raised at Alton and graduated from Newkirk High School. On September 14, 1963, he married Stephanie Rae Vrieze in Alton. They farmed near Alton for 40 years, except for his year of active duty with the armed forces during the Vietnam Conflict. In 2003, they moved into Alton.

He was a member of the Alton Reformed Church. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his wife, children and grandchildren. He liked gardening with his grandson, Justin, and sharing their harvest with the community.

He looked forward to visiting with others, particularly at the OK Café in Alton. Playing cards and golf were among his favorite pastimes.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Kurt and Mary Korver of Alton; a daughter and her husband, Susanne and Michael Meyer of Overland Park, Kansas; his mother, Allie Korver of Orange City; four brothers and their spouses, Cliff and Geneva Korver of Orange City, Stan and Linda Korver of Alton, Don and Marilyn Korver of Alton and Rod and Lanette Korver of Sheldon; a sister and her husband, Allyn and Mike Heikens of Everly; two brothers-in-law and their wives Terry and Pat Vrieze of Clive and Mike and Linda Vrieze of Sioux City; three sisters-in-law and their husbands, Mary and Jerry Brink of Princeton; Doris and Dennis Beltman of Orange City and Lisa and ,Terry ,Hodgson
of LeMars; and 27 nephews and nieces.

His corneas were donated to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank. Memorials will be directed to the Alton Reformed Church.
