Gerald D. Korver

Mr. Gerald Korver, age 64, of Orange City, passed away Thursday, August 12, 1993 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 16, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev. Steven Vander Molen officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.

Gerald was born January 18,1929, at Hospers. As a young child, he moved to the Orange City area with his parents. On September 23, 1949, he married Connie J. Rozeboom at Orange City. They farmed north of Orange City. In September of 1984, they moved into Orange City. He was a very active member of the First Reformed Church, including serving on the consistory as an elder and deacon.

Survivors include his wife; 5 sons, Gregory, arid his wife, Susan, of Hospers; Gerrit R. "Gerry'', of Orange City; Jeffrey, and his wife, Karen, of Orange City; Joel, of Orange City; and Thomas, of Denver, Colorado; daughter, Patricia, and her husband, Steven Thomas, of Mineral Point, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; and his father, John G. Korver, of Orange City.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite (Jurriaans) Korver.
