Arend T. Wassink, 67, of Sioux Center, died Wednesday in Sioux Center after being stricken while working.

Services were 1:30 P.M. Saturday, October 24, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. The Rev. Duane Tinklenberg officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

Wassink was born December 30, 1919, in Sioux Center. He married Kathrin Kiel September 13, 1946, in rural Maurice.

Wassink worked in construction in Sioux Center until he retired in 1985. He served in the Army during World War II.

He was a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission of Sioux Center and Bethel Christian Reformed Church, where he served as an elder and deacon.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, William of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and Jan of Kalispell, Montana; one daughter, Marlene Corey of Sioux City; four sisters, Nellie Davelaar of Sioux Center, Elsie Hubers of Pantego, North Carolina, Tena Mulder of Bellflower, California, and Bertha Hubers of Grandville, Michigan; and 10 grandchildren.
