Mrs. M. J. Faber, Former Resident Died Last Thursday in Chicago

Mrs. M. J. Faber of Chicago, a former resident of this vicinity, passed away last Thursday at her home in Chicago, following a lingering illness of nine years from rheumatism. During most of this time she was confined to a wheel chair but the last four months she was bedfast. The remains were brought to Hawarden by train Saturday afternoon and were accompanied by Mr. Faber and his daughter Anna. The other members of the family, who reside in Chicago, motored here to attend the funeral. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Christian Reformed church at Lebanon with Rev. Arthur Kort, the pastor, in charge and interment was made in the cemetery there.

Kryna Leeflang was born at Rotterdam, Holland, and had attained the age of 64 years and 12 days. In 1891 she was united in marriage with Marienus J. Faber and in 1914 she, together with her family, came to America, locating at Sioux Center. From Sioux Center the family moved to Colton, S. D., where they resided for a time. In 1917 they moved to this vicinity, locating on a farm several miles northeast of Hawarden where they resided until four years ago when they moved to Chicago. When she lived in this vicinity she united with the Christian Reformed church at Lebanon but when she went to Chicago she transferred her membership to a Christian Reformed church in that city. She was a true Christian and practiced her religion in her every day life.

She is survived by her husband and eight children. The children are Dick, John, Clara and Anna, who reside at home; Mrs. B. Mulder and Mrs. D. Van Hofwegen of Hawarden; Mrs. S. Sybersma of Ireton, and Mrs. B. DeBie of Lebanon.. Sincere sympathy is extended to the family in their hour of sorrow.
