Harm Ten Napel, 77, died Sunday, October 15, at the Sioux Center hospital.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, at Ireton Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Wybrin Oord officiating.

Ten Napel was born January 4, 1912, near Sioux Center. His family moved to the Ireton area in 1920 and he attended country schools in Sioux County. As a young man he played violin and always loved music. He married Margaret Koopmans June 14, 1933, at her home in Ireton. He worked in construction, helping to build many Sioux County roads in the 1930's. Later he owned a feed grinder.

The couple began farming north of Ireton in 1943. They moved to Bigelow, Minnesota and farmed there from 1948-1963, when they returned to the Ireton area. They retired in 1974. He became a resident of the Sioux Center Hospital Wing in 1985.

He was a member of Ireton Christian Reformed Church and was active in the churches and Christian schoods in the area where he lived.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Marvin and Celia and Fred and Shirley of Ireton, Dorothy and Myron Vander Wilt of Hospers, Anita and Gerald Weg of Bigelow, Minn., Lee and Elaine of Sibley, Don and Sherri of Sioux Center, Vernon and Elaine of Sioux Falls, Marlow and Nancy of Oskaloosa, Val and Dan Westra of Ireton; three sisters, Nellie Heusinkveld of Gresham, Ore. Ada Barents and Frances Mulder, both of Ireton; 34 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

His family moved to the Ireton area in 1920 where he attended rural schools....Harm was in construction, driving a gravel truck....He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Edward, Peter, and Marion....Surviving are his wife, Margaret, Sioux Center;...3 sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Nellie) Heusinkveld, Gresham, OR; Mrs. Julius (Ada) Barents...."
