Mrs. Josephine C. Foreman, age 80, of Alton died Thursday, November 29, 1990 at her residence.

Josephine Christina was born July 4, 1910 at Alton, the daughter of John Schneider and Katherine Thelen Schneider. She was raised at Alton and attended Morningside College in Sioux City. She then was a teacher in a country school near Alton.

On July 14, 1941 she married Richard Harold Foreman. They made their home at Alton where together they raised their family of six children and established a family business.

Mrs. Foreman was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Alton and the Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband “Rich”, five children, Donna Vaselar of Houston, Texas, Rex and Richard M., both of Alton; Jane Brown of Magnolia, Texas, and Harold of Alton; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rita Kool of Sioux City and Martha Kellen of Alton.

She was preceded in death by her son Robert, two grandchildren, six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 3, 1990 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, with the Rev. Monsignor Nicholas J. Ruba officiating. Interment followed at Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
