Paul Weersing, 81, of Sioux Center died Thursday, April 8, at the Sioux Center Nursing Facility.

Memorial services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Burial was at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Weersing was born June 21, 1917, in Peoria to Jacob and Kate (Terpstra) Weersing. He married Nell Cook in Glendale, California, January 14, 1939. They lived in California until 1994 when they moved to Sioux Center from Oceanside, California.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carol and Rod De Kruyf of Sioux Center and Nancy Wilford of South Bend, Indiana; four grandchildren, Randy and his wife Jan De Kruyf of Sioux Center, Kathi and her husband Bob Van Zanten of Rock Valley, Erica Wilford of Muncie, Indiana, and David Wilford of San Diego, California; and four great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister and one grandson.
