KOERSELMAN, SMIT, CLEVERINGA, BAKER

Sioux County Capital of March 1, 1984

Gerrit Koerselman, 93, of Sioux Center, died Sunday in the Sioux Center Hospital. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the First Reformed Church. Dr. Thurman Rynbrandt officiated. Burial was in the Middleburg Cemetery.

Mr. Koerselman was born Dec. 29, 1890, at Alton. He married Emma Smit. She died Oct. 8, 1953. She married Anna Cleveringa. She died June 27, 1969. He married Judith Baker in January 9, 1971. He farmed in the Middleburg area, and retired to Sioux Center in 1947. He served as elder in First Reformed Church and was a director of the Christian Retirement home in Sheldon.

Survivors include three sons, Cornelius of Boyden, Gary of Sioux Center and Clifford of LeMars: three daughters, Mrs. William (Teneva) Kroon of Alton, Mrs. Marion (Gerdena) Wissink of Sioux Center and Mrs. William (Esther)Plantage of Sioux Center; two stepsons, Howard Cleveringa of Granville and Jack Eyvers of Sioux City; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Elmer (Betty) Purcell in Virginia; one brother, Dick of LeMars.
