Cornelia Boon, age 83, of Rock Valley, died suddenly Tuesday, January 14, 1997, at the Hegg Memorial Hospital at Rock Valley. Funeral service was Saturday, January 18, at the Netherlands Reformed Church at Rock Valley. The Rev. John den Hoed officiated. Burial was at the Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley. Visitation was at Porter Funeral Home at Rock Valley.

Cornelia Gijsberta Teunissen was born June 4, 1913 at Ede, Holland. She was the daughter of Cornells and Gijsberta (Mulder) Teunissen. She came to the USA to the Alvord, Iowa area with her family when she was nine years old. Cornelia married Isaac Boon on June 4, 1935 at Doon, Iowa. Together they farmed between Doon and Rock Rapids, Iowa until they retired and moved to Rock Valley in 1972. Isaac died April 17, 1980.

Surviving relatives include six sons and their wives, Arie and Marjorie of Rock Valley, Iowa, Cornelius and Cornelia of Pierson, MI., Peter and Darla of Mary-Esther, Florida, Isaac Jr. and Elnora of Doon, Iowa, Daniel and Marlene of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and David of Greenville, MI.; one daughter and her husband, Bernice and Garen Rozeboom of Rock Valley, Iowa; thirty grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren.

Cornelia was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Sr.; twelve brothers and sisters; son, Donald Boon; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
