Death of John Schuller
John Schuller, who for the past three years has been a resident of Flandreau SD, died at his home there Thursday March 18, 1920.

For over four months he had been a patient sufferer with Thyroid cancer. The deceased was born in Holland Oct 9, 1868, being at the time of his death fifty one years, five months and nine days old. When he was three years old his parents came to America. They settled in Walpeton, Wisconsin, where they lived for three years. From this place they moved to Alton, Iowa, where the parents resided until their death ten years ago.

Mr. Schuller was a blacksmith by trade having learned the trade when he was eighteen years of age. In 1845? he married Winnie Groen. To this union two children were born, John and Ms. Henry Kots, both of Maurice IA. Mrs. Schuller died in 1900 at Rock Valley. In 1903 Mr. Schuller was married to Miss Mary Henderson and to this union one daughter was born, Alice who is still at home.

Mr. Schuller was a member of the American Reformed Church at Maurice IA. For several years he served as deacon in the church.

All the loving hands and medical skill could do was done for him, but a short time before the arrival os his son and daughter and other relatives for whom he seemed to be waiting he fell into a sleep from which he did not waken.

He was the oldest of a family of ten children, Nine boys and one girl, all of whom survive him. He will be missed by his many friends and neighbors.

The remains were brought to Rock Valley Friday where funeral services were held on Monday conducted by Rev. Ward of the Methodist Church, and the remains were taken to Valley View Cemetery for burial.
