Mrs. M. (Emilie Marie) Stange Laid To Rest
Mrs. M. Stange, who had been a patient at the Hull Hospital for several weeks, suffering with anemia, passed away Sunday morning at an early hour. She had attained the age of 62 years, 4 months and 18 days, and leaves 12 children and 21 grandchildren.

She is also survived by one brother, Mr. August Rollert, of Steen, Minnesota, The children are: Friedrick Stange, of Herman, Minnesota; Wm. Stange, of Doon; Reinhold Stange, of Boyden; Otto Stange, of Orchard, Iowa; John Stange, of Doon; George Stange, of Hull; Mrs. Ida Schloetjes, of Boyden; Mrs. August Helbing, of Hull; Mrs. Hedwig Janssen, of Boyden; Mrs. Maria Beckman, of Hull; Mrs. Emma Steffen, of Parker, S. D.; and Mrs. Laura Schubert, of Merrill. Wis. The Index joins in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved children.

Maria Stange nee Rollert was horn on the 18th of August, 1866, at Klozin, Brandenburg. In 1887 she together with her parents and brother, August, immigrated to America. On the 13th of June they arrived in Peoria County, Illinois. On the 24th of May, 1888, she was married to Edward Stange. In 1902 they came to Sioux County, Iowa, and moved onto their farm northwest of moved onto their farm northwest of Boyden. In 1911 Mr. Stange died Mrs. Stange stayed on the farm eight years longer, then, in 1919 she moved to her home in Hull where she has lived since.

The first signs of her ailment showed about 10 years ago, 5 years ago she sought the help of specialists at Waukesha, Wis., and ever since she has received treatment for diabetes. Several times her condition was such that her children feared the worst. But special treatment in our hospital always brought her around again. Also the last time there was hope that in due time, she could leave the hospital and go home again, but all hope had to be given up when Mrs. Stange had an attack of the flu. As to Mrs. Stange's attitude in all these ups and downs, hopes and fears she came more and more to that condition or frame of mind which may he expressed In the words: "We cannot, Lord, Thy purpose see, But all is well, that's done by Thee", Interment was made In St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Wednesday, January 9th.
