This summer he complained about feeling tired, shortness of breath, and temporal dizziness. About four weeks ago he went to Le Mars to get examination by a physician. He suffered very much, the main trouble being gall stones and inflammation of the liver. He died the 31st. of August 6 p. m. aged 57 years, 3 months and 7 days.

He showed his faith in Christ by good works and by loving the word of God, which be regularly heard, in church and read with his family at home. His death means a great -loss, both to his family and to his church and is deplored by many who really knew him. But we must bow under the will of the Almighty and try to well remember Christ's words: "What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter."
The funeral was held in the afternoon of the 3rd. of September, last Sunday, services being held at the home, St. Paul's German Evangelical Lutheran church and at the grave, Rev. Paul J. Bunge officiating, taking as his text in the church, Philipp. 1, 3-6. Messrs. Friedrich Braun, August and Wilhelm Soehl, Barthold Reyelts, Christ. Hollander and William Mory were the pall bearers. The attendance at the funeral was the largest one that the Germans of this vicinity have seen for years. The church was not by near able to seat all present. It shows how many friends from near and for Mr. Ed. Stange had. May he rest in peace and the eternal light shine to his immortal soul.
