Funeral services were held on Monday at the First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids for Hattie Scholten, 87, with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating.

Hattie (Hoff) Scholten was born July 6, 1897 at Sioux Center and married Henry Scholten on April 26, 1917. Following their marriage they farmed in the Steen Minn. area. In 1945 they retired to Rock Rapids and lived there unti Henry died in 1964. Hattie lived in Rock Rapids until 1982 when she moved to Sioux Falls to live with her daughter, Elisa.

Survivors include her five sons, Arend of Husdonville, Mich., Case of Lakewood, Calif., Gilbert of Larchwood, Henry of Rock Rapids and Gerrit of Sparks, Nev., and two daughters, Henrietta Timmerman of Lakewood, Col., and Elisa Plasier of Sioux Falls. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Elbers, and Mrs. Grace Elbers both of Steen and Mrs. Nellie Vander Wolde of Hills, Minn. and one brother Henry Hoff of Rock Valley.

Preceding her death were her parents, husband, three brothers, two sisters, two sons, John and Calvin; one grandson and one great-grandchild.
