Mrs. Wm. Scholten passed away at her home in Orange City early Sunday morning after a brief illness. Mrs. Scholten nee Hendrika (Bloemendaal) the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bloemendaal, Sioux County pioneers. Born and reared here, she married Wm. Scholten on April 25, 1895. They were the parents of 4 children who with their father survive; Ann of Orange City, Bernard of Hull, John of Madison, Wisc., and Johanna, Mrs. Lou Wielenga of Orange City. There are 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 5 brothers and 1 sister; John, Ralph, Gerrit and Henry all of Orange City, William of Spencer and Tillie, Mrs. Wm. Van Steenwyk of Orange City. Preceding in death were 2 sisters and 1 brother; Mrs. John Vander Wilt, Mrs. Wm. Van Surksum and Joe Bloemendaal several years ago. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Second Christian Reformed Church with Dr. J. Masselink officiating. Interment was in the Orange City Cemetery.
