Ruth Bernice Vanderham, 69, of rural Orange City died Tuesday, November 23, at her home.

Services were at 10 a.m., Friday at First Reformed Church in Maurice with the Rev. Wayne Sneller officiating. Burial was at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.

Mrs. Vanderham was born August 24, 1930, in rural Orange City, the daughter of John J. & Myna (Mouw) Hofmeyer. She was raised in rural Orange City. She married LuVerne Romain Vanderham in Orange City on February 14, 1950. They made their home in California where she worked in the kitchen of a school. They returned to the Midwest in 1976, and settled near Carnes. She was then employed in the kitchen and office of the Maurice-Orange City schools.

She was a member of the Siouxland Music Association and provided musical entertainment to senior citizens in area retirement and nursing homes. She enjoyed music, fishing and playing cards.

Survivors include her husband, "Rusty" a son and his wife, Jerry Mark & Liz Vanderham of San Diego; a daughter and her husband, Judy Kay & Rick Lamborn of Fenton, Missouri; two grandchildren; and a brother and his wife, Elmer & Wanda Hofmeyer of Orange City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
