At 6:30 on Thursday night, September 28, 1950, Reinder Wielenga passed away at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 5 days at the hospital in Sioux City, where he had been under observation for one week. Mr. Wielenga was born March 23, 1867 in the Netherlands and came to America at the age of 2 1/2 years old. They family settled in Virginia then moved to Pella where they spent 10 years. They then moved to a farm north of Orange City and the last ten years he spent in town with his son's family Albert and Dorothy Wielenga. He married Willemtje Cupido, Feb. 21, 1984 who passed away on Sept. 8, 1931. Four children were born to this union.

Two children survive him, namely Susan (Mrs. Andrew Wassenaar) and Peter, both of this city, 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

His wife and his son Albert and his daughter Sarah preceded him in death.
