Died: 5-5-1946Mr. Lou Wielenga, 86 year old Orange City resident passed away on Saturday evening, May 4, 1946 at the Doornink hospital. He had been failing for some time due to old age and complications.
He was born in The Netherlands, March 9, 1860. In 1870 he came to Virginia with his parents, and the next year they moved to Pella. They arrived in Sioux County in 1880. He was the second of 12 children of which 6 grew up. One brother, Reinder is still living in Orange City.
Left to mourn his departure are the following children; Herbert of Boyden, Peter of Orange City, Marie (Mrs. William Van Roekel) of Maurice, Elizabeth (Mrs. Henry Van Roekel) of Boyden, Jake of Orange City, Ring of Boyden and Andrew of Orange City.
Funeral services were held at Orange City on Wednesday afternoon, May 8 at one o'clock at the home and 1:30 o'clock at the First Christian Reformed Church. Rev. Bronkema officiated. Burial took place at the Orange City cemetery.
