TWO MORE LIVES ARE LOST IN WEEKEND ACCIDENT

Two more auto fatalities were chalked up in the area over the weekend as a car driven by Larry Wells, 18, of lreton and a pickup driven by Donald Eugene Lundberg, 37, of Alcester collided headon about one and one-quarter miles west of the junction of Iowa Highway 10 and county road T near Ireton.

Both men, alone in their vehicles, were killed instantly in the crash which occurred about 1:30 a. m. Sunday, according to Sioux County Sheriff Ted Hoogland.

Funeral services for Wells were held yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) in the Ireton St. Paul's Lutheran church with Rev. Arthur Anacker officiating. Burial was in Pleasant
Hill cemetery under the direction of Dow Funeral Home.

Mrs. Vernon Eilts was organist and the St. Paul's Lutheran quartet provided singing. Casket bearers were Rodney Mulder, Luke Boyer, Mark Bowden, Gary Ten Napel, Jerry Daale, Randy DeWall, Dennis Struck, and Eugene Schiefen.

Wells was born April 20, 1950, in La Mars, and he graduated from the West Sioux high school in 1968. He was a freshman at Sioux Empire College in Hawarden and was active in 4-H, FFA, and Walther League.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Wells of Ireton; a brother, Mark Lynn, of Ireton, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johnson of Ireton.

Funeral services for Lundberg were held Tuesday afternoon at the Big Springs Baptist church with Rev. Henry Nelson officiating. He was buried in the Big Springs cemetery under the direction of Nilson Funeral Home.

He was born July 2,1931, in Alcester where he lived his entire life. He was employed as a cross-country truck driver.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David R. Lundberg of Alcester, two brothers, Eric and Raymond, and two sisters, Mrs. Leslie Christopherson and Miss Amanda Lundberg, all of Three Rivers, Michigan.
