Wilmina Jacoba Wielenga, 72, of Orange City died Tuesday, April 9, at a Sioux City Hospital.

Services were at 10am Friday, April 12, at First Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Cornie Keunen officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery, Orange City.

Mrs. Wielenga was born February 25, 1924, in Hospers, the daughter of Nick and Wilhelmina Jacoba "Minnie" (De Roo) Mantel. She was raised at Newkirk. She married Garry J. Wielenga at Orange City on September 20, 1951. The couple farmed north of Orange City. They moved into town in the fall of 1990. She was a cook's helper at the Maurice-Orange City Elementary School in Orange City for 13 years.

She was a member of First Reformed Church.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters and their husbands, Neva and Robert Erickson of Henderson, Nevada, and Marcia and Larry Van Oort of Doon; a sister, Elizabeth Verdoorn of Orange City; a brother, Jacob L. Mantel of Sioux Center, and five grandchildren.
