Mrs. Wilmina Wielenga, age 71, of Orange City, died Friday, Jan. 17,1997 at her residence. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at2:00p.m. at the Redeemer United Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Ralph Pontier officiated. Burial followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home, Orange City.

Wilmina was born Feb. 11, 1925 at Maurice, the daughter of Sam and Minnie (Draayer) Wynia. She was raised in rural Maurice. On Feb. 11,1948 she married Edward John Wielenga at Sioux Center. They farmed at OrangeCity, retiring into town in 1980. Mr. Wielenga died Nov. 16, 1988 at Orange City.

Mr. Wielenga was a member of the Redeemer United Reformed Church.

Survivors include three sons, Marlin of Denver, Colo., Carl of Omaha, Neb., and Roger and his wife Lisa of Orange City; a daughter and her husband, Elaine and Ben Van Engen of Orange City; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers and their wives, Louis and Hermina Wynia of Maurice and Syne and Esther Wynia of Orange City; two sisters and their husbands, Sadie and Gary Van Ravenswaay of Orange City, and Cynthia and Wilson Haarsma of Jenison, Mich.; and a sister-in-law, Nelvie Wynia of Sioux Center.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Wynia.
