Mrs. Eleanor Wielenga, age 62, of Orange City died Wednesday, July 16, 1997 at the Orange City Hospital. A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19 at 10:30 a.m. at the Redeemer United Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Ralph A. Pontier officiated. Burial followed at WestLawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home, Orange City.

Eleanor Andrene was born June 5, 1935 in rural Orange City, the daughter of Jake A. and Cornelia (Muilenburg) Vande Griend. She was raised at Middleburg. On April 7, 1954 she married Stanley David Wielenga at Middleburg. They farmed north of Orange City. Mr. Wielenga died May 30, 1984 at Sioux Falls, S.D. In 1985 Mrs. Wielenga moved into Orange City where she was employed in the kitchen at the Pioneer Memorial Home.

Mrs. Wielenga was a member of the Redeemer United Reformed Church.

Survivors include her son and his wife, Harlan and Jane Wielenga of Orange City; two daughters, Rhonda Wielenga of Orange City, and Lisa and her husband, Dr. Rodney Den Hartog of Sanborn; eight grandchildren, Maria, Mark, Christopher, David, Sarah and Hannah Wielenga; and Andrew and Jonathan Den Hartog; and a sister, Mrs. Harlan (Janice) Van Roekel of Orange City.
