Anna Wielenga, 91, of Hull died Friday, November 16, at Hegg Memorial Hospital, in Rock Valley. Funeral service was Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church in Hull with the Rev. Paul A. Hansen and the Rev. Carl Klompien officiating. Interment was at the Hope Cemetery in Hull.

Mrs. Wielenga was born June 5, 1916, at Hull, the daughter of Charles and Hilda (Brouwer) Kroese. She was raised on a farm near Hull and graduated from the Hull Christian School. On March 26, 1941, she married Louis H. Wielenga. They made their home in Hull until 1953, when they moved to a farm near Middleburg.

In 1980, they retired into Hull. She did housekeeping at the Hull Hospital and was a clerk at the Bee Hive Store in Hull. Her primary role was as a homemaker. In early 2002, the couple became residents of the Colony House in Hull. He died September 3, 2002, in Sioux Falls, after more than 61 years of marriage.

In June of this year, she transferred to Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church , where she participated in the Helping Hands Society. She was a volunteer at her church and at the Hull Christian School. She enjoyed reading , doing needlework and having a flower garden. She was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins. Family was very important to her.

Survivors include her daughter and her husband, Lynda and Dennis Langstraat of Nicollet, Minnesota her son and his wife, Larry and MaryLou Wielinga of Hull; four grandchildren; Jeffrey Langstraat, of Boston, Massachusetts; the Rev. Kristin Langstraat, of St. Paul, Minnesota, Dawn Wielenga, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Rachel and her husband Tom Van Hofwegen of Phoenix, Arizona; and a sister-in-law, LaVonne Kroese of Sheldon.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Joe, John, Peter, Ivan, William and Charles, Jr. Kroese; and five sisters, Jessie Stienstra, Evelyn Marra, Nellie Kroese, Gertrude Van Otterloo ahd Wilma Miersma.
