Word was received here Wednesday afternoon of the death of G. G. Fry, former well known Hawarden citizen, which occurred in Pueblo, Colo., where he had made his home for the past two or three years with his sister, Mrs. Alice Schwartz. No particulars concerning his illness or death were contained in the telegram which was received.

The Fry family lived in Hawarden for a period of eight or nine years during which time Mr, Fry was manager of the Schoeneman lumber yard at this place. They came here about 1909 and left Hawarden about 1918. After leaving Hawarden Mr. and Mrs. Fry lived at various points in Iowa and later went to Florida where they resided for a number of years. Mrs. Fry passed away several years ago. One son, Willard, died in Hawarden in 1930 when just a small boy and is buried here.

Two daughters survive him, Miss Alice Fry and Mrs. Agnes Sherwood, both of whom reside at Ottumwa, Iowa. For two or three years following the death of Mrs. Fry, Mr. Fry and his sister spent their summers in Sioux Falls and their winters in Florida.

Mr. Fry was an active worker in the Methodist church while a resident of this city. He built a home in Hawarden which be afterwards sold to the late Oscar Davis which is now occupied by the Gerben Keizer family. He had many old friends in Hawarden who will learn of his death with sincere regret.
