Age: 104 years, 29 days

Graveside Service and Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Zion, Illinois

Hilda Johanna was the daughter of Godefridus and Fannie (Van Zalen) Born. She was raised in Carnavon, Iowa, and Orange City.

In 1925, she married Albert Winter in Sioux City, Iowa. That marriage later ended. On December 31, 1947, she married Grant Hoerner. He passed away May 31,1961. She married Rex Jousma on Nov. 11, 1963. He passed away in August of 1972, in Lowell, Michigan.

Hilda lived in Orange City, where she was employed at Vogel Paint and Wallpaper, and she lived in Sioux City, where she was employed at Windcharger and at Great Northern Railroad. She also lived in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Illinois.

In 1998, she returned to northwest Iowa, where she made her home at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. In 2000 she transferred to the Orange City Municipal Hospital Long Term Facility, where she passed away.

Mrs. Jousma was a member of the Cornerstone, Baptist Church in Orange City. She enjoyed traveling, especially with her husband Rex.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Mae Jackson of Orange City; six step-children; two grandchildren and their spouses, Jay and Gloria Jackson of Zion Illinois; and Denise M. and Ron Nelson of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; three great-grandchildren, Jason Jackson and his wife, Heather; JoAnna Jackson,and Jonathan Jackson: a greaa-great grandson, Benjamin Gerrit Jackson.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Anna Marie Kool, Hannah Groot, Margaret Pals, and Nellie Hoffman.
Memorials are being directed to Cornerstone Baptist Church.
