Cornelia Vander Stelt, 91, of Maurice died Monday, August 24, at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Hull.

Services were Thursday at First Reformed Church in Maurice, with the Rev. Wayne Sneller and Steve McNary officiating. Burial was in Sherman Township Cemetery.

Mrs. Vander Stelt was born on December 14, 1906, in the Netherlands, the daughter of Gerrit and Dora (Slawenhouk) Van Donkelaar. She married John Vander Stelt on January 14, 1925, in Orange City. She assisted with the family upholstery business. Her husband died on January 13, 1972.

Mrs. Vander Stelt was a member of First Reformed Church and the Maurice Booster Club. She enjoyed baking and crocheting.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Cornie and Dorothy of Sioux Center, Gerrit and Tracy of Lynden, Washington, and John Jr. and Wilma of Maurice; three daughters and their husbands, Jo and Gerrit Hielkema of Sibley, and Dorothy and Duane Van Der Weide and Betty and Rod Van Der Weide, all of Maurice; 22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; eight-great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Herman Van Donkelaar of Hull.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, a great-grandchild and two sisters.

Pallbearers were Wayne Brink, Gary Hielkema, Gary and John E. Vander Stelt and Jeff and Scott Van Der Weide.
