She attended a country school and then went to Northwestern Junior College in Orange City. Following this, she received nurses training at the Methodist Hospital in Sioux City.

Having a passion for missions, she went to the Missionary Training Institute in Nyack, New York, to prepare for the mission field. For three years, she worked in Arabia, as a part-time nurse and part-time secretary.

Upon returning to the Undited States, Tracy did many types of Christian work, including teaching Vacation Bible School in South Dakota, working in North Carolina at a home for unwed mothers, and helping with a church start in San Antonio, Texas. She also lived in Arizona, where she helped care for her brother-in-law and did part- time nursing. Later, she returned to Orange City, to care for her parents until their deaths and also a sister, until she entered a nursing home.

She lived in the Orange Colony Apartments in Orange City until moving to Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. In June of 1997, she transferred to the Orange City Municipal Hospital Long Term Care Facility.

Miss Huitink was a member of Dover Avenue Alliance Church, where she taught Sunday School classes regularly and participated in the women's organizations. She always had a real concern for the lost and unsaved people. She was also a faithful prayer warrior in behalf of many people, referring to her prayer list daily.

She enjoyed Bible Studies, walking, and reading to others.
