Claire H Pals, 96, was an 18 year resident of Covenant Village in Golden Valley, MN. She was born and raised in Orange City, Ia and went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2006, while living her last months in her youngest daughter's home in Big Lake MN.

Claire was born July 8, 1909 at her parents farm in Orange City. She was the youngest of 7 chldren to Harry and Johanna (Ypma) De Vries. She was educated in Orange City Christian School and while attending catechism class met Cornelius Pals. They would wed in a ceremony at her girlhood home on March 12, 1930. In 1988 Cornie passed away after nearly 58 years of marriage. God gave them 5 children of which four survive her. Their eldest son Clifford passed away in 1994.

Mr and Mrs. Pals were members of Dover Avenue Alliance Church since 1946. Claire enjoyed her life as a homemaker as well as knitting, crocheting, entertaining and traveling with her husband.

Claire is survived by children, Harriet, (Husband Vince) Caballes of Hemet, CA. and the children of Harriet and Jim Van Vugt, Mechele, Kimberly, Michael, Amy and Matthew (deceased); Harold (and his wife Patricia) Pals of Boulder City, NV and Spirit Lake, Ia and their children, Todd, Tanya, and Thad; Charlene (husband Norman) Prins of Bloomington, MN and their children Shad, and Shey; and Carolyn (husband Randy) Porter of Big Lake, MN. and Laguna Vista, TX and their children Tara and Tina; Clifford's children, Steven, Peggy, Cedrick, Jefferson, Thomas and their mother Barbara Pals; and Clifford's step daughter Chris Parker. Besides her 18 grandchildren, Claire was a great-grandmother of 48 and a great great grandmother of 5.

In addition to her parents, husband, son, and grandson, she was preceded in death by brothers, Andrew, Stephen, Gerrit, and Charles De Vries and sisters Agnes Peters and Gertrude Aalders.

Memorials may be given to Children's Lifeline International where Claire's granddaughter Tara and husband Troy Livesay with their five children are serving the Lord in Haiti as missionaries, or to the Okoboji Bible Conference, a place which had an impact on their family and where Claire and Cornelius learned to put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior.
