Alton James Vink 65, of Orange City died unexpectedly Sunday, March 8, at his home.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Thomas C. Vanden Heuvel officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery. Family visitation was from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, at the Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.

Mr. Vink was born June 5, 1915, in Marion, N.D. He married Gertrude Kroeze Jan. 22, 1941, in Orange City.

He was employed by the Orange City Municipal Utility Dept. for 35 years, retiring in June of 1980.

He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church where he served as an elder.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Dick (Janice) Van Deelen of Hudsonville, Mich., and Mrs. Stan (Betty) Veldman of Grandville, Mich.; five grandchldren and two brothers, Delvin of Lakewood, Calif., and Harvey of Worthington, Minn.
