Funeral services were held for Charles Vander Sluis, 65, former Orange Citian, at Ida Grove Thursday, October 24.

Burial was made in the Orange City Cemetery.

Mr. Vander Sluis was born in February, 1898, at Orange City and grew up there.

He married Amy Rodenburg of Westfield, N.D., 40 years ago. They were the parents of two daughters, Phyllis (Mrs. Carl Jass) and Kay Lynn (Mrs. Sam Young), both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a son, Curtiss, of Eureka, Calif.

Surviving besides the widow and children are four grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Arie Kanis of Orange City, Mrs. Robert Hyink of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Lloyd Amoo of Los Angeles, Calif.
