Mrs. Margaret Moose died here early Sunday morning at the advanced age of eighty five years one month and three days. She had been in feeble health the past two months and her demise was caused by old age. She was born in 1820 in Koerch, Kanton Kapellen Luxemburg, her maiden name was Margaret Klemmens.

In 1855 she and her husband crossed the ocean and settled in Holy Cross WI where five years later her husband died.

About that time she also lost her sister who was drowned the ship being burnt up in mid ocean. In 1882 after her children were grown up she came with them to the prairies of Sioux county and began farming near this place. Seven years later she lost her oldest daughter Mrs. Jacob Linster. Four children are still living Peter and Barney Moos, Mrs. Dom Berg and Mrs. John Eulberg. Deceased was one of four generations having six children, twenty grand children and five great grand children.

The funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic church at nine o'clock Tuesday morning Rev. Gerlemann officiating and the remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery. The pall bearers were Max Thorman, Michael Roeder, John Schwebach, Henry Bernard, John Kraus senior, and Henry Weber all old settlers.

Relatives present from other towns were listed.
