Mrs. John Van Zweden, 93, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Rock Valley, died Saturday in a hospital in Sioux Falls after a long illness.

Services were held Tuesday in the Netherlands Reformed Church of Rock Valley, the Rev. A. Den Boer officiated. Burial in the Valley View Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Van Zweden, the former Mary Rottier, was born Oct. 2, 1888, at Grand Rapids, Mich.

She married John Van Zweden, Aug. 13, 1913, at Grand Rapids. In 1946 they moved to Rock Valley, retiring in 1975 and moving to Sioux Falls. He died Nov. 9, 1979.

Survivors include four sons, Cornelius of Grand Rapids, Jacob of Miami, Okla., Adrian of Wayne, N.J. and Joseph of Sioux Falls; two daughters, Mrs. John (Jane) Friesma of Rock Valley and Mrs. William (Jackie) Rozeboom of Sioux Falls; 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
