Albert J. Vis, 60, passed away
Monday March 2, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S. D.

Albert was born April 13, 1926, at Hull the son of John Peter Vis and Maggie Brummel Vis. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

On March 5, 1951 he married Harriet Ann Gesink at Orange City. They farmed at Hull for 10 years and then at Hills, Minn. for 11 years. In 1974 they moved to Orange City where they became custodians of the Sioux County State Bank. Since 1983 they have been custodians of Mid-American Reformed Seminary in Orange City.

He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Orange City and the church's men's society. He was also a member of Pressman-Kosters Post 329 of American Legion of Orange City.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Warren (Mary) Olson of Hills, Mrs. Kim (Arla) Dorschner and Mrs. Wayne (Ruth) Kramer, both of Orange City, Mrs. Ronald (Jane) Van Der Meulen of Matsqui, British Columbia, Canada, and Lora Lee Vis of Orange City; 12 grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters; Peter Vis of Valley Springs, S.D., Mrs Nelson (Johanna) Schreur of Hull, Henry Vis of Beaver Creek, Minn., Mrs. Richard (Albertha) Visser of Hudsonville Mich., Mrs. Gerrit (Elizabeth) Franken of Sioux Center, and Mrs. Peter (Kathleen) Boer of Sanborn.

He was preceded in death by his stillborn son, Jerry Allen, and two infant brothers.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 5, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Ralph A. Pontier officiating. Interment was followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home of Orange City.
