A sad accident happened at the Henry Scholten home northeast of town last Wednesday evening when their fifteen months old baby girl drank gasoline and in four hours was dead. It seems the mother was cleaning clothing and left a cup of gasoline sitting on the table and the babe grabbed the cup and drank the contents before she had time to reach it.

A physician was called but it was too late and all efforts to save the child's life proved futile and it passed away at eleven thirty o'clock.

The blow is indeed a sad one to the parents who in their hour of sorrow have the heartfelt sympathy of all. The funeral was held this Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the Reformed church.
